Liverpool and Monaco are reportedly the top two contenders to sign Inter striker Mauro Icardi this summer.

Both clubs made major sales this summer, with the Reds sending Luis Suarez to Barcelona for €94 million and the Ligue 1 side offloading James Rodriguez to Real Madrid for €80 million, and it seems the two teams are willing to shell out a nice amount of cash to the Nerazzurri in order to secure the 21-year-old’s services.

According to Tuttosport, Liverpool and Monaco may be ready to submit offers of up to €30 million for the Argentine, which would be more than double what Inter paid for him last summer.

The striker would also apparently be ready to make a move to one of the two sides in order to compete in the Champions League next season.

Icardi scored nine goals and provided two assists in his 22 Serie A appearances during his debut season with the Biscione last term.
