Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers refused to talk much about incoming striker Mario Balotelli but did say the player’s reputation should not be a problem.

With speculation in the English press claiming that there will be a clause in Balotelli’s contract in relation to good behaviour, Rodgers said that the club’s code of conduct would not be hurt by one player.

“On Balotelli, I will categorically say that I cannot speak about a player before he has signed,” said Rogers. “Every club has a code of conduct in place. We have a fantastic environment here at Liverpool and a great culture.

“Nothing will ever shake that.”

Balotelli is due to arrive in England on Friday to sign for the Merseyside club but he will not do so in time to play for the club next Monday night.

That fixture comes against his former club Manchester City but the Daily Mail say that the deal will not be wrapped up in time for him to play a part.
