Liverpool have reportedly declared interest in Sampdoria goalkeeper Sergio Romero.

This news comes in the wake of now former Reds shotstopper Pepe Reina making the move to Bayern Munich this past week, leaving Liverpool with a need to bolster their goalkeeping options.

According to Sky Sport Italia, the Merseyside club have previously monitored the Argentinean international and now rekindled their interest in the 27 year old.

Romero spent last season on loan to Ligue 1 big spenders Monaco, yet failed to make an impact after only managing three starts.

However, after greatly impressing at the World Cup the shot stopper has attracted the interest of a number of clubs around Europe.
