Liverpool midfielder Lucas Leiva remains focused on his role with Liverpool in spite of interest from Napoli.
The 27 year old Brazilian has been targeted by the Partenopei as the Italian side looks to bring in midfield reinforcements.
In regards to a move Lucas told Vavel Brazil, “Never say never, but today my thoughts are all for Liverpool and always leave these troublesome issues to my manager.
‘If [Liverpool] were to get something interesting for me and for the club, something could happen”, he continued. “Now, I [am concentrating] on having a good season with Liverpool.”
He was also asked about a return to Brazil, stating, “For now I do not think [about that], but who knows, maybe in the next few years.”
Leiva joined Liverpool in July 2007 from Gremio for €10 million, and last season he made 29 appearances as Liverpool finished second in the Premier League, just two points behind Manchester City.
