AC Milan legend Cesare Maldini has revealed that he is not at all surprised about striker Mario Balotelli’s imminent switch to Liverpool stating that it always on the cards.
The 24-year-old controversial striker is set to move to the English club with negotiations between the player’s agent Mino Raiola and Liverpool officials concluding successfully in London and the announcement of the €20 million move due on Friday.
Speaking to TuttoMercatoWeb.com, Maldini said, “Mario’s transfer does not surprise me because it was bound to happen.
“There were problems within the club throughout the past year and when a big club from a big country came calling, he was always likely to go.
“Now Liverpool just needs to let him play like he does and he will do well for them.
“He will always be in the eyes of the press, but it is important that he concentrates solely on his football.”
