Hellas Verona coach Andrea Mandorlini spoke positively after his side’s opening Serie A match draw with Atalanta.

Mandorlini who led the Gialloblu to an impressive tenth place finish last season began this season with a fairly uneventful first match.

Despite Verona 0-0 draw with Atalanta on Sunday evening coach Mandorlini still held an optimistic attitude in his post match comments.

“The points are all important. On a difficult pitch we created our chances, we split an even match and we are proud of this achievement,” Mandorlini said.

“We did better in the first half for 30 minutes when we controlled possession but perhaps a little coy on some occasions.

“Atalanta, were a very solid team, they were better in the second half, but we are happy with the performance here in Bergamo.”

Mandorlini also addressed the potential for further moves to be made with the summer transfer window coming to a close.

“We sold well and some new players arrived. Perhaps we will still have something to find the features that are missing in this team.”
