Napoli signing Michu has revealed that coach Rafa Benitez was the main reason he decided to join the Italian side this summer.
The 28 year old has moved to southern Italy from Swansea on loan, and admitted the influence of the Spanish tactician played a huge role in his move to Naples.
“The coach was the reason for my decision to join Napoli. Benitez has been very important in my thought process,” the Spaniard told Tuttonapoli.net.
“Napoli is a step forward in my career.
“Playing in the Champions League is something that every child dreams of, I hope to hear the roar of the Napoli faithful.
“I’m 28 years old and I never had the chance to compete at such a level, I can’t wait.
“For me it is a pleasure to be here. Napoli are one of the biggest teams in Italy.
“The fans here are amazing, I have always identified with people who go to the stadium to lose their voice when cheering for their team.
“The goal of the team is to finish as high as possible in Serie A but there are other good teams as well as Napoli.”
