Iker MuniainAthletic Club forward Iker Muniain believes his side have what it takes to defeat Napoli in their Champions League play-off.

Following a 1st leg 1-1 draw at the Stadio San Paolo, Muniain and his La Liga side host Rafa Benitez’s Napoli in the return leg next Wednesday.

According to El Correo, the Spanish forward said, “If we show that we believe we can go through, then we will. We are a very ambitious side.”

Having put Athletic ahead in the first half, registering a valuable away goal in the process, Muniain was positive after the match.

“We’re happy with the way we played. I’m delighted with my goal, above all for the team because we come away with a good result.”

Yet, Gonzalo Higuain prevented a nightmare-ish first leg for Napoli, equalising, before Michu squandered a great chance to steal a win, and Muniain knows Napoli will be a threat at San Mames, stating, ” I think it’s still 50/50 who goes through.”

Napoli were knocked out in the group stage of the Champions League last season, before reaching the last 16 of the Europa League – a competition they will be restricted to once more if they fail to achieve a positive result in Northern Spain.
