Roma midfielder Radja Nainggolan was satisfied with his team’s performance in their 2-0 win over Fiorentina on Saturday.

The Giallorossi kicked off their 2014-15 Serie A campaign at home against the Viola and were able to secure the three points with the 26-year-old scoring his side’s first goal during the first half and assisting the second, which was scored by Gervinho at the end of the second half in stoppage time.

Nainggolan spoke to Sport Mediaset after the win over Fiorentina about the way Roma played and their hopes to fight for the Scudetto this season, while also commenting on the capital city club’s preparations for the Champions League.

“Today was a victory for the whole team, even during the difficult situations we have proven to be a united squad,” said the Belgian.

“The Scudetto? We are all very excited after this first victory, but the season is long and we hope that the fans will continue to support us.

“Champions League? We want to always be ready, we have a very large squad.”
