Napoli are ready to join the race to secure the signing of Arsenal’s World Cup winner Lukas Podolski, who is edging closer to an exit from the Emirates stadium.
The 29-year-old German has strongly been linked with a move to Juventus during the last few days and the player has since been pulled out of Arsenal’s squad for the trip to Everton this weekend.
According to the Naples edition of Il Mattino, Napoli are prepared to hijack any Juventus move for the forward and they believe that he would be a cost effective player. However the biggest issue that hangs over any deal is that Podolski currently earns around €4 million per season, a figure that the Neapolitans would not be able to match.
Podolski has spent the last two seasons with Arsenal, scoring 28 goals in his 69 games for the side and previously had spells with FC Koln and Bayern Munich.
