Marouane Fellaini looks increasingly likely to be staying at Manchester United after Napoli’s interest in the player cooled.
The Partenopei had been in advanced talks with the Old Trafford outfit with a loan move seemingly close to being completed.
However, after photos of Fellaini leaving the United training ground on crutches and wearing a protective boot were published in a recent online edition of The Sun, the interest of the Serie A side has waned.
The extent of his injury is unknown at the moment, but Rafael Benitez’s Napoli will likely cease talks especially given they have recently signed Jonathan de Guzman from Villarreal.
Fellaini recently appeared as a substitute in United’s 2-1 loss to Swansea City in the first week of competition in the Premier League.
