Marouane Fellaini Manchester UnitedNapoli will turn their attention to Liverpool midfielder Lucas Leiva after talks broke down with Manchester United over a potential transfer of Marouane Fellaini.

After a dismal debut season in England, Fellaini was put on the transfer-list at Old Trafford where he made only 21 appearances without scoring a single goal following his big money move from Everton.

However, Gazzetta dello Sport have reported that the Red Devils are demanding a €4.5 million loan fee which has prompted the Serie A club to chase the Brazilian holding midfielder instead who played in the past for coach Rafa Benitez during his time at Liverpool.

“There are six names [midfielders] on the list at the moment and we will have to wait and see as there maybe another exit from the club and hence the need for a replacement,” Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis was quoted as saying.

“The fans stay calm because we have a great coach in Rafa who knows what to do, and we have to ensure that we do not end up making a mistake at any cost.”
