Napoli have contacted Manchester United over the availability of midfielder Marouane Fellaini.
The Belgium international is seen by fans as one of the last parts of David Moyes’ disastrous tenure at the club, a view which saw Fellaini jeered repeatedly during a friendly against Valencia.
According to Sky Sport 24, Partenopei coach Rafael Benitez is preparing an offer to lure the player away from England, but firstly needs to strike an agreement with the Red Devils’ manager Louis van Gaal.
The 26-year-old is reportedly desperate to stay at Old Trafford, and will only talk to other clubs if Van Gaal confirms that Fellaini is not in his plans for the new season.
Fellaini made the €30 million move to Manchester last summer.
