Obiang - SampdoriaNapoli are believed to have turned down a swap deal that would have seen Pedro Obiang join from Sampdoria in exchange for Miguel Britos.

The 22-year-old midfielder has also been linked with a move to West Ham United with the Blucerchiati demanding €6 million from the east London club as they are only willing to let the player go for the right price.

According to Sportitalia, Samp had notified Napoli that they would be interested in a part-exchange deal that would see defender Britos head to the Marassi but the proposal was rejected as the Partenopei coach Rafa Benitez wants the Uruguayan to stay.

However, it has been reported that Napoli remain interested in Obiang despite their reluctance to include Britos as a makeweight in any deal.

Napoli also had a loan offer for Obiang rejected, yet their determination to bring in a defensive midfielder means that they are seriously considering meeting Sampdoria’s valuation for the player in a simple cash only deal.

Sampdoria are the only club Obiang has played senior football since following his arrival at the Genoese club in 2008.

The 22-year-old made 27 appearances during the 2013-14 Serie A season.
