Despite reportedly showing interest in AC Milan striker Mario Balotelli, it is believed that Liverpool have yet to make a formal offer for the Italian.

The Reds are looking to fill the vacancy left by Luis Suarez’s sale and are reportedly prepared to spend €22 million for the striker, though Rossoneri vice-president Adriano Galliani has denied that talks have been held with the English club.

“At this time there is no offer from Liverpool for Balotelli,” he told ANSA.

“Therefore there are no talks. The transfer market ends on the first of September so we will see.”

If Balotelli moves to Liverpool it will be his second stint in the Premier League, having played for Manchester City between 2010 and 2013.

The Italian forward scored 14 goals in 30 Serie A appearances for Milan in the 2013-2014 season.
