Palermo chairman Maurizio Zamparini has slammed his side’s performance against Modena in the Coppa Italia on Saturday.

The Rosanero were defeated 3-0 by Walter Novellino’s men in the first round of the Coppa Italia, and Zamparini was quick to criticise the decisions of coach Giuseppe Iachini.

Speaking to La Repubblica, Zamparini said that Iachini lost the game for Palermo, saying that he “experimented too much with the lineup”

“Iachini expiremented too much with the line-up,” he said. “Fielding [Milan] Milanovic and [Zouhair] Feddal was a risky choice.

“The team that will play in Serie A next weekend simply cannot play the way they did against Modena, a side that finished 25 points behind us last season in Serie B.”

Palermo kick off their Serie A campaign at home to Sampdoria on the 31st of August.
