Palermo are targeting a swoop for Roma target man Marco Borriello before the transfer window closes.

The 32 year old Italian international is not wanted by the Giallorossi, and it is believed he will be allowed to leave if a suitable offer comes along.

Sport Italia report that Palermo offered a sum of €800,00 to bring Borriello to Sicily this season, but Roma are holding out for €1.3 million.

With star striker Abel Hernandez reportedly en route to Hull City, the Rosanero are in quick need of a replacement.

Palermo are still convinced that a deal can be sewn up soon, but will have to contend with fellow Serie A newcomers Cesena for Borriello’s services.

Borriello scored one goal in 11 appearances for the Giallorossi last season.
