Roma president James Pallotta is adamant that his team will fight for the Scudetto until the very end of the season.

The Giallorossi are favourites to challenge reigning Serie A champions Juventus for the league title this year after coming in second place last term and the capital city club’s chief is confident in their chances to succeed in securing first place this time around.

Pallotta spoke to Mediaset after Roma’s 2-0 win over Fiorentina on Saturday about the team’s willingness to battle for the Scudetto and commented on the future of Mattia Destro, who has been heavily linked with a move to Chelsea in recent days.

“Will we fight for the Scudetto? Of course, our team has been reinforced and we will certainly fight for it until the end,” said the 56-year-old.

“Destro to leave? He has never been for sale.”

The Lupi will face Empoli next after the international break on September 13.
