Parma have reached an agreement to sign Italian midfielder Francesco Lodi from Catania.

The 30-year-old moved to Genoa at the start of 2013-14 season before heading back to the Elefanti just six months later, but the free kick specialist is now expected to be on the move again following the Sicilian side’s relegation.

Lodi was put up for sale following Catania’s relegation with his club eager to cash in and the player himself is happy to return to playing in Serie A.

According to La Gazzetta di Parma, an agreement has been the two club has been reached and the player is expected to travel to meet with the Ducali coach Roberto Donadoni and his new teammates.

The player’s arrival is expected to be confirmed in the coming hours or days after he meets up with the squad, completes his medical and signs the contract.

Lodi made 28 appearances for Catania and Genoa during the 2013-14 Serie A season, scoring four goals.
