Catania star Francesco Lodi is seen to be more open to a move from the recently relegated club, with Parma ready to pounce.

Parma coach Roberto Donadoni is intent on strengthening his midfield ahead of a busy season after Joel Obi and Walter Gargano’s loans ended, and star midfielder Marco Parolo moved to Lazio.

And according to Tuttosport, the Gialloblu have targeted Catania playmaker Lodi as the answer to their playmaking problems, with the Elefanti willing to sell given their relegation to Serie B at the end of last season.

Lodi had a season to regret last season when after moving from Catania to Genoa last summer, he failed to win himself a first team place and subsequently re-joined his previous side but was unable to stop their relegation to the second tier.

Parma have made some impressive moves so far in the transfer window, with Italian internationals Antonio Cassano and Mattia Cassani joining Afriyie Acquah in making their loan moves permanent while striker Ishak Belfodil has returned from his disastrous spell at Inter looking to rekindle his career.
