Former AC Milan midfielder Andre Pirlo has written about how Liverpool bound striker Mario Balotelli has turned a corner along with his potential to flourish into one of Europe’s best striker.
In his autobiography ‘I think therefore I play’ which released in April of this year, the playmaker expressed his views about the controversial striker, stressing upon the fact that he has matured in the past 18 months since coming back from a turbulent spell with Manchester City.
“Mario has matured since he returned to Italy,” Pirlo wrote. “He will be the first one to admit if he makes a mistake, and despite being error-prone when he was younger, he is not that type of player anymore.
“Anybody who still talks about him in that way is living in the past and I have always said that in the right environment, he has the potential to be one of the best strikers in Europe.
“He needs to be given his space and the media do not need to write a story every time he goes to the shops because the time has come to write only about what he does on the field.”
