Diego LopezReal Madrid goalkeeper Diego Lopez is reportedly very close to signing for AC Milan .

The 32 year old Spaniard has found himself out of favour at Madrid following the arrival of Costa Rican World Cup star Keylor Navas.

According to Il Corriere della Sera, the player’s agent Manuel Garcia Quilon is due to fly into Italy to discuss terms with a view to a move with Milan vice-president Adriano Galliani.

A good relationship between the clubs has facilitated the deal, the player is apparently opposed to a proposed loan deal instead preferring a permanent three year contract.

The move comes amidst reports that Milan coach Filippo Inzaghi has little faith in current goalkeepers Christian Abbiati, Michael Agazzi and Gabriel.

Last season the Spaniard made 36 appearances for Madrid keeping 16 clean sheets in the process.
