Real Madrid goalkeeper Diego Lopez is looking closer to making a switch to the San Siro as his agent is set to begin talks with AC Milan officials over a potential transfer.

Lopez who established himself as a top goalkeeper when former Real Madrid coach Jose Mourinho elected to make the 32-year-old his first choice, over Spain captain Iker Casillas, has been heavily linked with a move to Milan as a potential replacement for veteran Christian Abbiati.

According to a report from Sky Sport Italia, Diego Lopez’s agent Manuel Garcia Quilon is set to meet Adriano Galliani in Italy to discuss terms over the Spaniards potential transfer from Real Madrid, with the Spaniard said to be demanding a three year contract.

The 32-year-old, who has two years remaining on his contract at the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu, faces further competition in his fight to remain first choice goalkeeper, as Real Madrid have completed the signing of Costa Rican World Cup stand out Keylor Navas.
