Roma will look to replace Mehdi Benatia with Olympiacos defender Kostas Manolas if the Moroccan leaves the club by the end of the transfer window.

Benatia has been linked with a move away from the Giallorossi all summer with Bayern Munich and Manchester United heavily linked with the centre-back.

Roma coach Rudi Garcia will be disappointed to lose one of his star performers of last season but if he does leave the capital club, Sky Sport Italia are reporting Roma have lined up 23-year-old Manolas as a suitable replacement.

The Kokkinoi defender failed to appear in their first game of the season on Saturday as they defeated Niki Volos at home 3-1 and it now looks likely the player could be on the move.

Manolas has two years remaining on his contract after joining Olympiacos from AEK Athens in 2012 on a free transfer.
