Roma sporting director Walter Sabatini is working hard to bring in two defensive reinforcements to fill the voids created by the imminent departures of Alessio Romagnoli and Mehdi Benatia.

Vlad Chiriches of Tottenham Hotspur, Kostas Manolas of Olympiakos F.C., and Marko Baša of Lille are currently leading candidates to replace the duo at Stadio Olimpico.

According to Sport Italia, Chiriches should be acquirable for €8 million, while the Giallorossi face competition from Arsenal and Juventus for Manolas. Meanwhile, 31-year-old Baša played under Garcia at Lille and should be available for a nominal fee.

Romagnoli has been given permission by his parent club to join Sampdoria on loan for the upcoming season, and the deal should be finalized in the next 48 hours. But the Benatia’s fututre is still up in the air, despite reports suggest that Bayern Munich are leading Chelsea and Manchester United in the race.
