Juventus and Roma are expected to lock horns off the pitch before the 2014-15 league campaign gets underway, with Olympiacos defender Kostas Manolas as the prize.

The 23-year-old’s entourage has already held talks with Bianconeri sporting director Fabio Paratici, but an agreement is far from reached.

Tuttomercatoweb.com reports that the Giallorossi are looking to capitalize on the Old Lady’s reluctance to complete negotiations quickly and hoping to win the race for the former AEK Athens prodigy’s signature.

Roma’s sporting director Walter Sabatini has allegedly stepped up his interest in the Greek international, whose contract is set to expire in June 2016, with agent Mino Raiola is also in Greece to help the defender secure a move to Serie A this summer.

The nephew of Greek football legend Stelios Manolas, Kostas already has two Greek Superleague titles and two Greek Cups under his belt.
