Roma have been told by Lille that defender Marko Basa is not for sale despite Rudi Garcia’s desire to bring him to the capital club.
The 31-year-old defender played under the current Giallorossi boss at French clubs Le Mans and Lille and the Frenchman is trying to coach him for the third time.
According to Sky Sport Italia, Garcia phoned Lille president Michel Seydoux over a potential move for Basa to which the reply was no.
Despite the player’s contract expiring in 2015, the French outfit want him to remain there.
Basa was instrumental for Lille last season where he played a part in Les Dogues’ fine run of 11 consecutive clean sheets in Ligue 1.
