Sampdoria are considering the transfer of Liverpool’s Sebastian Coates to replace former defender Shkodran Mustafi who moved to Valencia recently.

The sporting director of Sampdoria Carlo Osti has been trying to negotiate terms with Hugo Campagnaro of Inter, but an agreement hasn’t been reached with the player reportedly asking 1.5 million for a duration of two years whereas Sampdoria are only willing to give him a one-year contract.

La Gazzetta dello Sport reports that as an alternative, coach Sinisa Mihajlovic could look to sign the 23-year-old Uruguayan who the Reds manager Brendan Rodgers has offered on loan to the Italian club.

The Blucerchiati are also contemplating moves for Roma’s Alessio Romagnoli on loan as he is on the periphery of coach Rudi Garcia’s first team plans and Portuguese club G.D. Estoril Praia’s Yohan Tavares.
