San Lorenzo president Matias Lammens has confirmed that defender Santiago Gentiletti is moving to Lazio.
The 29 year old Argentinian of Croatian descent, has been with the Matadores since 2012 and his performances had sparked the interest of Lazio.
Speaking to Talk of San Lorenzo in an interview, Lammens confirmed that Lazio had activated his release clause, and he was powerless to fend them off.
“The departure of Gentiletti is a given,” Lammens said. “Sorry, we did not want to sell him, but we were forced by a release clause [that was activated].”
“It will not be easy to replace Gentiletti.”
Gentiletti will leave San Lorenzo having played 59 times for them, and netting twice in the process.
