Sassuolo coach Eusebio Di Francesco has blamed fatigue for his side’s showing in the Trofeo TIM.
The Neroverdi lost both games against Juventus and AC Milan respectively to finish the tournament with 0 points.
Speaking to reporters after the game, Di Francesco said that “fatigue was felt” during both games, whilst also saying that Milan deserved to win.
“We were not brilliant,” he said. “We played two days ago in the Coppa Italia and the fatigue was felt, Milan deserved the trophy tonight.
“They [Milan] had the greatest desire to win the trophy.
“However, we need to reinforce the midfield and purchase another goalkeeper after the injury of [Gianluca] Pegolo.”
It is also worth mentioning that Sassuolo kick off their 2014/2015 Serie A campaign away to Cagliari on the 31st of August.
