As we near completion of the Serie A Kit Watch series, we head back to Genoa for another visit to take a look at the Sampdoria kits for the 2014/15 campaign.

Even before my passion for Italian football ignited, I have always believed the Sampdoria kit to be one of, if not the greatest kit in football.

Consistent, classy and traditional are words that have become synonymous with the Sampdoria kit for me. The home kit in particular never has too many alterations and this year is no different.

The shirt displays the traditional blue colour with the iconic white, red and black band across the centre of the shirt which shows the Genoa coat of arms in the middle.

There will be no collar on this seasons shirt, instead Kappa have incorporated the same collar as on the latest Torino kits, with it being a combination of a v-neck and a round collar.

The away shirt for the 2014/15 campaign will be white. The traditional band appears across the centre of the shirt outlined this time by a blue stripe on the top and bottom of the band in an attempt to contrast it from the rest of the shirt. As it is based on the same template as the home shirt, the neck line of the shirt again features a combination of a v-neck and circular design.

The third shirt is an eye-catching and almost intimidating red. An extremely vibrant colour which has always featured in some way in the kits now takes centre stage. The identifiable band across the shirt is once again in place, but with the addition of two stripes at both the top and bottom. The blue stripes present in the away shirt carry over, with an extra addition of two thin white stripes either side of the band.

This season will be the first time the Blucerchiati have worn a red kit in 18 years.
