Inter are on the verge of swapping Saphir Taider for Pablo Osvaldo according to Southampton coach Ronald Koeman admitted.

Inter have been looking to strengthen their strikeforce all summer and seem to identified Italian international Osvaldo as the man to solve their depth issue and have agreed a loan deal with a purchase option for €7 million for the controversial striker, though will have to send Algerian midfielder Taider in exchange.

“We are working to find the best solution for Osvaldo and for the club,” Koeman told BBC Sport.

“Taider brings great quality and we need that. We need competition in the squad so its a good deal all around.”

Osvaldo is expected to have a medical over the coming days as the 28 year old looks to end his ill fated move to the Premier League side, having played only nine times for Southampton last season before being shipped out on loan to Juventus where he struggled for game time.

Taider was a near ever present for the first half of last season with the Nerazzurri, but the 22 year old fell out of favour with coach Walter Mazzarri following the arrival of Hernanes in January.
