English Premier League outfit Stoke City are to set to beat out Norwich City to the signing of Lazio defender Michael Ciani.
The 30 year-old Frenchman has been linked with a move away from the Biancocelesti following the arrival of Stefan de Vrij, and could find himself playing in England in the foreseeable future.
La Gazzetta dello Sport report that Stoke look set to beat competition from Norwich to sign the towering centre back in the coming days.
It is reported that Ciani favours a switch to a Premier League side, which largely contributed to his decision to choose Stoke over the Championship outfit.
Ciani has made 41 appearances for Lazio since his move to the Serie A from French Ligue 1 side Bordeaux back in the summer of 2012.
