Sunderland are set to sign Inter midfielder Ricky Alvarez.
The 26-year-old has been deemed surplus to requirements by coach Walter Mazzarri and will be allowed to leave the club this summer.
According to Sky Sport Italia, the Argentinian will initially move to Wearside on loan for a fee of €1 million, with a mandatory purchasing clause of €11m should the Black Cats avoid relegation.
Alvarez made 29 Serie A appearances last season, scoring four goals and assisting another eight.
