After being linked with Atalanta and newly promoted Cesena it would seem that Parma are the new frontrunners for the signature of Napoli midfielder Walter Gargano.
Despite starting the Partenopei’s friendly with PAOK Thessaloniki the Uruguayan does not feature in the plans of coach Rafael Benitez who is also conscious of the Azzurri fans unhappiness with the player when first departing the club in 2012.

Gargano made 22 appearances for the Gialloblu last term as they finished an impressive sixth in Serie A and were only denied a place in the Europa League when the FIGC rejected their application for a UEFA license due to an overdue tax debt.
