West Ham United are reportedly interested in signing Sampdoria midfielder Pedro Obiang this summer.
The 22-year-old, who played in the Serie A side’s friendly 3-2 Marathonbet Cup loss to the Hammers in London on Monday, has been linked with a possible move to Sassuolo in recent weeks though it seems the English club may have already been in contact with the Blucerchiati to discuss a possible transfer.
According to Tuttosport, Sampdoria executives are using the visit to London as an opportunity to meet with the West Ham leadership and begin negotiations over the Spaniard.
Reports suggest that the Samp have already evaluated the player’s worth and would expect around €6-8 million for his services.
Obiang spent two years in Sampdoria’s youth program from 2008-10 before beginning his professional career with club during the 2010-11 season.
The midfielder has scored a total of one goal and provided nine assists in his 94 professional appearances for the Italian side thus far.
