German side Wolfsburg are reportedly considering a move for Sassuolo striker Simone Zaza.

The 23-year-old joined the Neroverdi in 2013 from Sampdoria in a co-ownership deal with Juventus before making the move permanent this summer as the Reggio Emilia club bought the Bianconeri’s share for €7.5 million. Zaza had spent the previous three seasons on loan Juve Stabia, Viareggio and Ascoli, respectively.

According to reports from Bild, Wolfsburg are again looking at Serie A for reinforcements after been heavily linked with a move for Roma striker Mattia Destro but that potential deal for the Gillorossi forward looks to have stalled in the past week and Zaza could be the alternative for the Bundesliga’s side forward line.

Zaza made 33 appearances in Serie A last season and netted nine times, forming an impressive forward partnership with fellow Italian Domenico Berardi.
