Ignazio Abate admitted that AC Milan did not start with the right approach as they had to battle back to draw 2-2 at Empoli on Tuesday night.

AC Milan were left to rescue a point after going down 2-0 in the early stages against Empoli and Abate claims that a change of attitude was needed.

“We started with a passive attitude and we weren’t able to do what we wanted,” the right-back said.

“We changed the pace in the second half and played quicker and were able to fight back and right the situation.”

Abate provided the assist for Fernando Torres’ first goal in an AC Milan shirt and said he has been impressed by the Spain striker since joining from Chelsea.

“Torres is a great player, he has great professionalism and humility and has adapted well with the Rossoneri, we are happy to have him in the team,” Abate concluded.
