AC Milan fullback Ignazio Abate was full of praise for the Rossoneri and new coach Filippo Inzaghi after their impressive 3-1 victory over Lazio on Sunday.

The match was Inzaghi’s first as coach of the Rossoneri and goals from Keisuke Honda, Sulley Muntari and Jeremy Menez ensured all three points for the Diavolo, a result that Abate believes was deserved.

“We offered a good performance,” the Milan veteran told Mediaset Premium after the match. “Competitive spirit and malice are features that should never be missing.

“Inzaghi? He is one of us, one of the group, I think that this year we can get a lot of satisfaction.

“We have worked 50 days for this game, the coach has given us an incredible charge. I believe that victory tonight is also his.”
