AC Milan fullback Ignazio Abate has praised the impact of new coach Filippo Inzaghi following his arrival at the club, as the Rossoneri look to continue their great start to the campaign.

The Rossoneri have won their opening two Serie A matches, and Abate believes that the changes made at the club this season have been positive as they prepare to play host to Juventus on Saturday.

“Our team reflects the coach and Inzaghi has brought enthusiasm and rules,” the 27-year-old told Il Giorno.

“Last season [with Clarence Seedorf] some players had some bad habits, they arrived at Milanello just to punch in and then go home.

“Now it’s different. Pippo is a tough and demanding technician who asks for mutual respect. In the past this was not so obvious.”

“Mario Balotelli’s exit? It has changed the spirit of the group.

“We reflect the soul of Inzaghi,  you can see it from the bench when our teammates went crazy and entered the field to embrace.”

Abate also revealed that his agent is in talks with Milan over a contract renewal with his current deal set to expire next June.

“My agent is talking with the club,” he continued.

“Milan knows my requirements, Adriano Galliani is satisfied with my work and a solution will be found.

“Then there are many factors that could change things.

“What hurt me was that I would read the figures I have asked for in order to sign, figures that are far removed from reality.”
