AC Milan have confirmed the signing of Chelsea youngster Marco Van Ginkel on a season-long loan. The player has admitted that it was Nigel De Jong who influenced his decision to join the Rossoneri.
Van Ginkel, 21, endured a frustrating season with Chelsea as he was sidelined after suffering an anterior cruciate ligament injury. Following his difficult ordeal, the Dutchman has spoken of how happy he is to be have joined AC Milan.
“I am very pleased [to be at Milan],” he told Milan Channel, “Milan is a great club where many great Dutch players have played.”
“I know Nigel De Jong from my experiences with the [Dutch] national side, I talked about Milan with him and he told me good things about the club.
“I am a team player, I want to meet Mr. Inzaghi and like I said I’m happy to be here.”
