Following his side’s shock victory in Portugal, Albania coach Gianni De Biasi has praised Lazio duo Lorik Cana and Etrit Berisha for their performances with the Shqiponjat.
Both Cana and Berisha featured in the victory, performing admirably as the Eagles started their campaign with a victory.
The former Torino coach acknowledged their contribution to Radio IES 99.8, singling out Cana for particular praise.
“Against Portugal he did nothing wrong,” Di Biasi stated.
“He made timely interventions and even committed good fouls. He nullified Eder, without suffering from Nani or Joao Moutinho.”
Di Biasi went on to express his delight with the progress of goalkeeper Berisha.
“Working for a year in Rome he has grown a lot.
“He is a definite prospect as a goalkeeper. I say this without fear of exposing myself, and I’m sure I will not be denied.”
“He went [to Lazio] to fight for his place not because he was stronger than Marchetti, but because he believes in his daily work on the pitch.”
Following their win in Aveiro, Albania’s next qualifying match will be against Denmark.
