New Juventus coach Massimiliano Allegri appeared happy with his side’s 2-0 home win over Udinese, but was under no illusions that his squad has still some way to go to becoming a real force.

Carlos Tevez gave the hosts an early lead before Claudio Marchisio doubled the advantage late in the game.

Allegri spoke to Sky sport Italia after the game at the Juventus stadium and said, “I’m not surprised about how well we played but technically this team still must improve.

“We need to learn when to slow down as we can’t play at 100mph for the whole match.”

He also had words of praise for his four strikers, who all played a part in the victory.

“[Carlos] Tevez and [Fernando] Llorente played superbly and worked incredibly hard.  It was good to be able to bring on two strikers, young and talented, like [Kingsley] Coman and [Alvaro] Morata, who almost scored on his debut.”

The former AC Milan tactician is in his debut season with the Bianconeri, having replaced Antonio Conte who left Juventus to coach the Italian national team.
