Following Inter’s rummaging victory over Sassuolo over the weekend, defender Marco Andreolli has urged his side to keep their feet firmly on the ground.

The Nerazzurri will kickstart their Europa League campaign on Thursday night in Ukraine against Dnipro Dnipropetrovsk, and the 28-year-old believes that there is still some room for improvement.

“A match like that leaves a good feeling,” he told Fcinternews.it regarding the Sassuolo game.

“However, we should not lull over seven goals because we have the Europa League on Thursday and it is another important objective for the season.

“We have to keep our feet on the ground and look what we can do to improve further.

“[Against Sassuolo], the team took to the field with determination because we were unable to give our fans a victory against Torino [on the first matchday], so we wanted to win immediately at home.

“If we continue to show the same determination on the field [as we did against Sassuolo] then we can go far this season.”

The former Roma and Chievo centre half is expected to make his Europa League debut for the Biscione in a couple of days, and claims he is ready for the test.

“Debut in Europa League? I always train to the best of my potential and I’m always ready, then the coach makes the decision.

“I have always accepted the coach’s choices and I want to continue to improve and impress. On Thursday, there’s an important competition and we have a chance to make the leap.

“We have to have the mindset of wanting to do things right.”

A graduate of the Inter academy, Andreolli spent time at Roma, Vicenza, and Sassuolo before making 79 Serie A apperances for Chievo and earning a transfer back to the Stadio Meazza in 2013.
