Atalanta boss Stefano Colantuono says the club are proud of midfielder Giacomo Bonaventura’s move to AC Milan.

The 25 year old impressed and scored in his debut for the Rossoneri in the 5-4 against Parma on the weekend, and despite being a huge loss for the Nerazzurri, the tactician is pleased to see his former star move to one of Italy’s biggest clubs.

“I’m happy for him because he is a guy who has grown a lot under our management,” Colantuono told RTL 102.5.

“I have also been quite on his back about making him understand that in order to grow and become a player of a certain type, he should improve in some things.

“He understood perfectly and has improved because he is a really serious guy, he does not even have a tattoo for one example.

“He escapes a bit from the stereotype of the player today, he is already mature.”
