Atalanta have announced the signing of striker Alejandro Gomez from Metalist Kharkiv.
The Argentinian joins fellow new strikers Rolando Bianchi and Richmond Boakye in competition for Stefano Colantuono’s forward spots.
A release on the club’s official website confirmed that Gomez, who uses the nickname ‘Papu’ has joined the Orobici on a permanent basis and has signed a three year contract with the club.
The 26 year old will be enjoying his second spell in Italy having enjoyed a stint with Catania, during which he played over 100 Serie A games and scored 16 goals for the Elefanti.
It is also worth mentioning that Gomez made 23 appearances in the Ukrainian Premier League with Metalist and scoring three goals.
