Francesco Bardi has revealed the reason behind his excellent penalty save against Napoli on Sunday.
The Chievo goalkeeper denied Partenopei hitman Gonzalo Higuain as the Flying Donkeys went on to secure a stout 1-0 win at the Stadio San Paolo.
“The first penalty I saved was from a Romanian Nun when I was at school,” he told the Corriere del Veneto.
“She was a footballer and played in secret. When I was young, my only goal was not to let my opponents score.
“With Higuain I chose a corner, dived as well as I could, and saved it.
“It was the best match of my career.”
