AC Milan President Silvio Berlusconi believes the Rossoneri will return to being a force in two to three years time.

The Rossoneri have bore the brunt of media criticism following their eighth place finish in the 2013/14 Serie A season, however Il Diavolo have impressed by winning both their matches to start the new season.

Berlusconi spoke to Milan Channel about the importance of the Rossoneri’s upcoming clash with current league champions Juventus and how he believes the club are taking the necessary steps in order to once again be competitive.

“From 2003 to 2007 we won everything there was to win in the world and we are the most successful team in the world,” he said.

“I think in two to three years, developing and putting in place the squad, we can return to where we deserve.

“I spoke to the players and I told them that tomorrow [Saturday]  is not important but fundamental, because if they play well and convincingly beat Juventus the disappointments of the last two years will be forgotten and the supporters will come closer to us.

The Rossoneri are set to square off against Juve at the San Siro on Saturday night.
