Giacomo Bonaventura has revealed some details of his crazy deadline day transfer to AC Milan and how it feels like a happy ending.

In his first interview since joining the Rossoneri, the former Atalanta maestro discussed the hectic events which brought him to the San Siro.

“The last day of the transfer market was really intense.” Bonaventura told Milan Channel. “At three o’clock it seemed like I was going to Inter and then [Hellas] Verona popped up, Inter once again and then I thought about staying at Atalanta.

“At 20.30 the Atalanta management came to me and said that I had to go to Milan, it was surreal, but there was a happy ending.

“Meeting Galliani and talking to Berlusconi on the phone are moments I will never forget.”

The 25 year old midfielder then went on to discuss his first week at Milanello.

“Everything has been positive, it’s a fantastic environment and everyone has welcomed me really well. I already knew some of the players already.

“My main objective is to make myself available to the squad and I will try my best to be helpful to the side.”

The versatile midfield came through the renowned Atalanta youth system which also produced fellow Milan stars Riccardo Montolivo and Giampaolo Pazzini.
