AC Milan defender Daniele Bonera knows the Rossoneri made several individual mistakes in their enthralling 5-4 victory over Parma but says the side is still content with the result.

The 33-year-old was sent off in a match where new signing Jeremy Menez made the difference, but the Italian highlighted the importance of bringing home all three points from the Stadio Ennio Tardini.

“It was a very strange game, I do not remember similar matches,” Bonera told Sky Sport Italia after the match.

“Tonight was a matter of individual mistakes, however the positives are the result and the excellent team spirit.

“Under the eyes of everyone there is a different atmosphere at the club and this group spirit is important.

Bonera also spoke of the changes new coach Filippo Inzaghi has made to the side and the key role played by Dutch midfielder Nigel De Jong.

“When he [Massimiliano Allegri] came he had the idea of playing with the 4-3-3 but then things changed due to the players available.

“Inzaghi has started with this formation and he is moving forward with it.

“He [De Jong] is an important player who played well even before coming to Milan.”

Milan’s next match will see them face reigning champions Juventus at the San Siro on September 20.
